When you rename a column in your database you can use Iron Speeds "Map field" option to map all existing controls that were built on the old name to the new name. To do this you rename the column in the DB as you would normally, then scan for schema changes in Iron Speed. You should now see the old column name marked as deleted and the new column name marked as added. Select the new version and in the properties pane on the right at the top you should see a "Map field to" option. Click the three dots at the end and you should get a box pop up that will let you select the old name.
